At the Swedish Christmas Fair you'll have a unique opportunity to fill stockings with traditional crafts, imported gifts and delicacies from Scandinavia. Enjoy Swedish folk music and dancing and experience the colorful, traditional, regional Swedish costumes. Let your children meet the Swedish Santa and take them fishing for surprise goodies at the popular Fiskdammen (fish pond). You will also get a chance to enjoy Pepparkakslandet where children can decorate their own gingerbread figures. The traditional Glögg (mulled wine) is sure to bring Holiday cheer, especially when paired with culinary delights like the popular open-faced shrimp sandwiches, meatballs, waffles with strawberry jam, and cinnamon rolls.
Lucia Pageant four times during the day. With her crown of candles, let Santa Lucia and her pageant herald the season.
Special feature: This year the Swedish Christmas Fair will highlight Swedish Scientists and Inventors, including famous figures like Alfred Nobel, who invented dynamite before founding the Nobel Prizes. You?ll also become acquainted with lesser known inventors like Gustav Erik Pasch, the inventor of safety matches, and Victor Hasselblad, the inventor of the famous Hasselblad camera. Not to mention the inventors of the zipper, the ball bearing, the pacemaker, the three-point safety belt, and the computer mouse, all Swedish inventions.
